It seems like there is nothing but bad fortune for the Ravens when it comes to the Tight End position. With reserve TE Quinn Sypniewski out for the season with a knee injury and Daniel Wilcox not fully recovered from toe surgery, a bunch of free agents attempting to fill the role as Todd Heap's backup. And as we know, Todd Heap hasn't exactly been injury-free for the last few years. If ever there's a season that the Ravens need a healthy Todd Heap ... 2008 is the year.
Of the free agents vying for the TE position, Scott Kuhn, recently joined the list of the injured when the rookie from Louisville broke his left thumb during a punt drill. That leaves Joe Reitz, a former college basketball player from Western Michigan, and Lee Vickers, a second-year player who was acquired by the Ravens when Heap and Wilcox went down last season. Vickers hasn't practiced the past two days because of an undisclosed hand injury. Heck, if I were a young TE and got a call from the Ravens, I might just let the machine pick it up.

I guess what I am saying is that the Ravens need a big "Heap of Heap" this year. In 2007, Heap only appeared in six games, with 23 receptions for 239 yards. That equates to 39.8 receiving yards per game, the lowest it has been since his rookie year of 2001. The success of the Ravens passing game in 2008 is shrouded by a whole lot of question marks ... QBs? ... A deep ball threat? ... Premier wide receivers? At least we can hope that the new coaching staff has devised a more creative game plan for 2008 when it comes to the passing game. And the last thing the Ravens need is an injured Todd Heap.
Wrap the guy up in bubble wrap ... please. All I want to hear from the stands on game day in 2008 is a healthy dose of ...
HHHEEEEEEEEAAAAAAPPPPPPP !!!!!
That's like music to my ears.

GO RAVENS!!!
