Bill Richards called the meeting to order at 7:40pm. Roll call of officers was taken.
December 2007 minutes: Kym Adams accepted the December minutes and Dave Schleicher seconded.
Treasurer’s Report: Bob was not present at this point of reporting.
Corresponding Secretary’s report: Sharon had nothing to report.
President’s Report:
- Bill talked some football. The season closed on a positive note-Raven’s beat the Steelers! Ed Young presented Kelly Greg the Unsung Hero Award.
- Christmas Party-Thanks to Ken York for his awesome music.
- Thanks to Chuck Clauer, our webmaster, for updating our site-it is really looking good. You can access the ESPN website from our site now.
- OC Raven’s Roost Convention-There are sign up forms on the website. The theme will be voted on next month. The forms will be available at the February meeting. The cost for adults is $55.00. All attending must be registered and paid for by the April council meeting in order to receive a goody bag with souvenirs. Bonnie reminded all with past hotel reservations to confirm asap.
Committee Reports:
Membership Committee: Velma reports that we have 53 current members. We need Barb Clark’s new address and Tina’s new email address. Welcome back Kathy and Terry Flannery!
Social Committee:
Bull and Shrimp Feast-This annual event will be held April 19, 2008. Bonnie will have tickets available at the February meeting. Each member is encouraged to sell at least one table of 10. Bonnie will also be circulating sign up sheets for helpers at the next meeting. We need to have a minimum of 200 tickets sold and a max of 400. Tickets will cost $40.00. Please start working on getting donations for the auctions and the door prizes. A vote was taken and the majority voted for 50% of the profits from the event will be donated to the Leukemia Society. Roy Lam is working with a Sports Memorabilia place in Forest Hill to supply merchandise for the silent auction.

Polar Bear Plunge Committee:
We have 19 people registered to plunge. Each person must register themselves when they arrive. Roost 74 will be doing the 3:00pm plunge. Roost 50 has invited us into their large warm tent if we need it. All supplying food will meet at the Greene Turtle Friday 1/25 at 7:30pm to drop off food to Bill Richards. Thanks to Kym for all her hard work on this.
Charity Committee: Tina or Lori weren’t present.
Artwork Committee: Milt was working on prices for the full design logo and also T-shirts. More info to follow. Kym may have a t-shirt connection that we could use.
Old Business:
- Superbowl-Many members will be meeting at the Greene Turtle to watch the Superbowl together. Brenda Jewell has organized this with Kim Edge.
- We gave Kim Edge an appreciation gift of 6 tickets to the Council Bull Roast in March. Kim will distribute them as she sees fit to Greene Turtle employees.
- The Roost collected $185.00 in gift cards at the Christmas party for needy families.
New Business:
Nothing was reported nor discussed.
